Song Saturday - Jamie Bower/TSS
Mar. 8th, 2025 12:32 pmSo it’s been awhile since I’ve done a Song Saturday but I decided I wanted to do one again. I was gonna do it last week but between low energy and headache I just didn’t. Anyway, here it is!
So a little while ago I was replying to
rhoda_rants about Jamie Campbell Bower and also Sleep Token and then a few days later Jamie posted a cover of one of their songs! Apparently it was posted on twitter one night and got deleted soon after (which I missed), before Jamie posted it on YouTube.
I knew Jamie did music (especially since he’s on the cover of Rock Sound) but this was the first time I’d actually heard him sing and it’s a cover of a song I’m familiar with too. I’d say he does a pretty great job, especially with how Sleep Token songs are pretty challenging due to how varied they can be. And Euclid is one of my fav songs (and was the song closer on the recent tour).
I just love that’s like a whole worlds colliding type thing you know? Like I love Sleep Token, I love Jamie in. Stranger Things and so this is just 🖤 I hope he puts it on Spotify which is easier to listen to than YouTube.
Secondly we have TSS aka the French band that bewitched me at Set It Off. (What is it about Set It Off having supports that I fixate on?)
So this is my first time seeing the Killing Me video and I’m still not familiar with the band members names. (I really feel I should learn them cause I sense I’ll do something with them.) Their songs are done in a mix of French and English and I just love that they seem to change on the fly which is pretty impressive.
The video does seem to have the vibe of bringing one of the guys back to life though there’s not as much focus on that as there should be. (There’s him on table and lightening but that’s about it). But I did like the shots of him kinda hanging and you do get a good vibe as to what the band look and sound like (the main singer’s outfit is pretty much what he wore on stage)
I will love you back to life is a line that goes so hard though.
I’m curious what their other videos are like so might have to check them out soon. I’ll definitely see them if they ever do a solo uk tour though I don’t see that happening for awhile.
Anyway that’s it for now, hopefully you enjoyed both of the songs. I’m now gonna have some noms and flop a bit.
